Founder

Ikram Buralle is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Co-Founder of the Somali Behaviour Analysis Association (SBAA). She has experience working with children, families, and adults across clinical, educational, and coaching settings, using evidence-based behavioural approaches to support meaningful, practical change.
Her professional interests include behavioural coaching, caregiver training, and developing executive functioning skills in individuals across different stages of life. She is particularly interested in helping individuals and families build practical skills that can be applied in everyday life, while supporting caregivers and professionals in understanding behaviour and creating environments that promote success.
Ikram is passionate about making behaviour analysis more accessible and relevant to the communities it serves. Through SBAA, she hopes to create opportunities for Somali professionals and students to connect, learn, collaborate, and contribute to the field while encouraging culturally responsive practice.
Ikram holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science from George Brown College, and a Master of Arts in Special Education from Ball State University.

Founder

Rahma Farah is a Behaviour Analyst, Infant and Child Sleep Consultant, and the Founder and Director of Prospering Minds Consultancy Ltd.

She is a co-founder of the Somali Behaviour Analysis Association and serves on the IBAO Advisory Board for Somalia and Somaliland. Rahma is committed to increasing awareness of behaviour analysis and improving access to ethical, culturally responsive and evidence-based support within Somali communities.

With extensive experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Rahma supports neurodivergent children, families, schools and care providers across home, educational and community settings. Her practice is trauma-informed, regulation-focused and centred on communication, dignity, meaningful skill development and sustainable outcomes.

Rahma is also an international IBT trainer, supervisor and speaker. Through her clinical, training and community work, she advocates for greater understanding of autism and SEND while helping families and professionals apply behavioural science with compassion, confidence and cultural awareness.

Suaad Jama

Suaad Jama

Neurodiversity Advisor and Creative Strategist.

Suaad Jama is an architectural designer and writer whose work explores the relationship between architecture, culture and lived experience, with a particular interest in how space can shape belonging and wellbeing.

At the Somali Behaviour Analysis Association (SBAA), Suaad is a Neurodiversity Advisor and Creative Strategist. Her first project with SBAA was the development of the Somali Neurodivergent Peer Support Circle, a culturally informed, peer-led space created to support Somali neurodivergent adults, including those who are late-diagnosed, to connect, share lived experiences and build community within a culturally familiar setting.

Outside of SBAA, Suaad is the founder of Studio Somalia, a collaborative creative practice exploring Somali traditional knowledge systems through architecture, design and interdisciplinary research. Her work brings together cultural knowledge and contemporary creative practice to consider new ways of understanding space, identity and place making.

Nasteexa Maxamud, LLB, MScABA

Trainee Behaviour Analyst and People & Partnerships Coordinator

Nasteexa is a trainee Behaviour Analyst and People & Partnerships Coordinator at the Somali Behaviour Analysis Association (SBAA), with over five years’ experience supporting autistic children and their families across school, home and community settings. As part of SBAA’s growing team, she contributes across the organisation.

Her clinical interests centre on early intervention and expanding behaviour analysis beyond traditional settings, including integrating ABA with sport and movement to support young autistic children.

Outside of her clinical work, Nasteha is the founder of Buraanbur Sahlan, a cultural movement platform dedicated to teaching and preserving Somali buraanbur through structured learning.
